Lodge at Mount Rivers - Gresford Hunter Valley
The Lodge at Mt Rivers is a destination and experience like no other in the Hunter. This idyllic Australian property located in Mt Rivers (upper Hunter) a short drive from the village of Gresford, and 1 hour to the Pokolbin vineyards, offers over 200 acres of private, sprawling countryside and 3.5 kilometres of exclusive Paterson River frontage that is yours to explore. This architecturally designed pavilion house has vaulted ceilings and large picture frame windows to take in the breathtaking views of the lush surrounding mountains and river, as well as the property’s stunning infinity pool.
Elegantly decorated, The Lodge features 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms accommodating up to seventeen guests (15 adults and 2 children), all effortlessly catered from the fully equipped gourmet kitchen which opens up to the dining room and decks. Here you will enjoy a relaxing brunch, long family lunches and fireside dinners with friends all whilst taking in the beauty of the picturesque setting. With ducted air conditioning throughout for the warmer months and two separate lounge rooms, both featuring open log fireplaces to keep you toasty in the winter, you’ll want to return every season to experience this idyllic property.
By day, the property is perfect for those wanting to explore the outdoors and experience nature – there is something for everyone. Be it kayaking, bush walking or a picnic atop one of the many hills overlooking the farmland and river flats. Journey to any number of swimming holes, exploring the “commando” kids treehouse or wander to the paddocks and make friends with the the ponies and goat. If you fancy throwing in a line, a catch of the day is almost always guaranteed, but waiting for one is just as enjoyable!
For those who wish to rest and restore, you’ll be spoilt for choice as you decide between chilling out in the sparkling pool or reclining on the sundeck with a glass of wine in hand.
You may also like to let the hours slip away soaking in the private outdoor bath with views of the river, or finding a spot on the generous wrap around verandahs and deep sofas to curl up with with a magazine or turn pages of a book. You may like to stroll the orchard grove for a handful of seasonal fruits of oranges, lemons, grapefruit and mandarins ripe for the picking during the winter months, with wild pomegranate and peaches awaiting discovery elsewhere on the property by the discerning gatherer.
At night, gather your friends and family around the fire pit to share the days adventures and tell stories whilst you toast marshmallows and gaze up at the stars.

** The Lodge at Mount Rivers is positioned on the banks of the Paterson River. Access to the lodge is via larger-style 4WD vehicle only across a river causeway which is regularly monitored. The Paterson River levels rise and fall all year round dependent on rain events and upstream water releases from river systems and dams. This affects the height of water on the causeway and access in and out of the property. In the event that the river is too high to cross and in the interest of guest safety, no crossings are permitted when the level of the river is higher than standard access (approx. 40-60cm) in a larger-style 4WD vehicle only. As the level of the river is out of our control, if access is not permitted, your booking may be cancelled and refunded or alternatively, rebooked and moved to a future date. If you are a guest in-house and the water level rises during your stay, you may be required to stay longer until the river levels recede to a safe level to permit crossing. **
