Accessing The Lodge at Mount Rivers is effortlessly convenient. Positioned just a brief drive from Gresford village, an hour from the renowned Pokolbin vineyards and 2.5 hours from Sydney, you’ll find us at 38 Lawrences Road, Mount Rivers, NSW 2311. Door to door limousine transfers, or helicopter transfers from Sydney and Newcastle airports to the doorstep of The Lodge, can also be arranged. Whether you’re journeying from nearby or venturing from afar, our tranquil haven is within easy reach, promising an unforgettable escape in the heart of the Hunter Valley.

The Lodge at Mount Rivers is positioned on the banks of the Paterson River. Access to the lodge is across a shallow ford which is normally 15cm deep and regularly monitored. The Paterson River levels rise and fall all year round dependent on rain events and upstream water releases from river systems and dams. This affects the height of water on the ford and access in and out of the property. For your own safety vehicular river crossings are not recommended when the water level is higher than standard access permits (up to 40cm for sedans and hatchbacks and up to 60cm in larger-style 4WD vehicles). At all times crossing is at your own risk. Alternatively, a transport vehicle (18 seater, ex-military, German Unimog) specifically designed for fording at depth (up to 120cm) is available on site 24/7 to cross the river and facilitate your stay. Extremely rare, but crossings are not permitted in flood events when the river rises above 120cm. If you are a guest in-house and the water level rises during your stay, you may be required to stay longer until the river levels recede to a safe crossing level. As the level of the river is out of our control, it is treated as force majeure.
